Obituary of Jarriette Thebert
Jarriette “Jarrie” Clark Thebert 90, of Earlysville, VA joined Jesus on April 13, 2019. She was born to the late Denver and Mary Clark on March 11, 1929. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glenn and granddaughter Megan Sauer. Jarrie is survived by her children Colleen Thebert-Wright, Deb Scheel (John), Barb Sauer (Kevin), and Glenn Jr. (Janice), grandchildren Abby, Ariel, Scott, Brian, Barbara, Rachel, Nick, and Kelly; great-grandchildren Jack, Chloe, Brayden, Addison, Colton, Kendall, Kevin, Nate, and Colbie. Jarrie graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1946, earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan in 1950, and a Masters of Divinity from Butler Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis Indiana in 1983 where she studied personality theory and religion. Jarrie was at home with her children for many years before establishing herself as a successful real estate agent in Milford, Michigan. Glenn and Jarrie moved their family to Carmel, Indiana in 1971 when Glenn’s job changed. While Jarrie was working on her Master’s Degree she began her ministry as a Chaplain at Methodist Hospital and many other hospitals in Indianapolis in 1983. Her commitment to chaplaincy continued as she began working on the staff of Lennon and Associates Christian Counseling and Lakeview Church until she and Glenn moved to Earlysville, VA in 1998. While in Virginia, Jarrie joined the staff of Christ Community Church as a counselor, serving there for over a decade before retiring. Jarrie and Glenn had a heart for Africa after several mission trips and were instrumental in establishing the Manna Mission School in Ghana. Jarrie lived at home in Earlysville until she broke her hip in July of 2017, then she moved to Rosewood Village apartment where she passed early Saturday morning. Jarrie enjoyed nothing more than her time with the Lord, counseling, and spending time with her family. Jarrie will be remembered as a powerful force in the lives of those she touched during her life. Services for Jarrie will be held this Wednesday evening April 17, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA with John Manzano officiating. Viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00pm prior to the service. A private family burial will be held where Jarrie will be interred beside her beloved husband Glenn at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Earlysville, VA.
