

Jo Ann Lindner, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and intercessor, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 3, at her home in Ivy Woods, surrounded by loving family members. Born January 22, 1938 in Jackson, Mich., of Frank and Eliza Vaclavik, she is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, John; four children: Jeanne Koch Harrison and her husband, Mike, of Vienna, Va.; Joyce Girson and her husband, Andrew, of Gaithersburg, Md.; Jill Knudsen and her husband, Richard, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa.; and John Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Richmond; also, two sisters: Genevieve Darbyshire and her husband, Dick, of Lake Orion, Mich., and Mary Craypo of South Bend, Ind. She was predeceased by her older brother, Walter Vaclavik, of Jackson, Mich. She also had seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jo Ann served her husband as a pastor’s wife for 17 years in Marine City, Mich., and in New Bremen and Kenton, Ohio, before moving with her family to Charlottesville in 1979, where she was appointed director of sponsorship at Christian Aid Mission, a position she fulfilled for 37 years. She and her husband were members of Church of the Blue Ridge in Afton for 35 years, and recently joined CrossLife Community Church in Charlottesville. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 5 to 7 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Charlottesville, with an accompanying fellowship and refreshment time. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 at the church. A private interment will be conducted Saturday morning for family members.
