Joseph Dean Hunt

Joe Hunt, 87, of Palmyra, passed away on October 19, 2018, at Envoy at the Village. He was born on July 10, 1931, to James Bory and Maggie Wells Hunt. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mazzie Fitzgerald, and seven brothers: James, Melvin, Edward, Monte, William, Clifford, and Filmore. He is survived by his wife, Stella Hartless Hunt; his daughters, Sue and her husband Ronnie Cottle, of Wake Forest, NC, and Vicky and her husband Frank Sipe of Palmyra. He is also survived by his stepson, Charles Eddie Dolan, of Charlottesville; one sister, Martha Dalton, of Charlottesville; his grandchildren, Travis Cottle, Jessica Rabaa, Frankie Sipe, Kristina Sipe, Jennifer HuYoung, Karrie Dolan, Brandon Dolan, Cory Dolan; and ten great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Stewart and his staff for the many years of care they gave him. Also the staff at Envoy at the Village for their kindness and excellent care they showed Joe. He loved helping others, and never met a stranger. The family wishes to extend an invitation to his family night on Monday, October 22, 2018, from 6-8pm, at Teague Funeral Service; and to his graveside service on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 11:30am, at Monticello Memory Gardens, where the Reverend Phillip Carter will officiate.
