Lucile Rea McCauley, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday night, March 27, 2016. Lucile was born June 24, 1918 at Proffitt, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stevenson and Elizabeth McCauley; her brothers, Hugh P. McCauley, O.L. McCauley and Douglas McCauley; and her sister, Mildred McCauley Marshall. For many years Lucile was a bookkeeper at Tilman’s Department Store in downtown Charlottesville. Lucile will always be remembered as the most caring, loving aunt a group of nieces and nephews could ever have. She made the very best homemade ice cream, chocolate cake and macaroni salad. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Maple Grove Cemetery on Proffit Road with Mr. Roger Browning officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Maple Grove Christian Church, 3210 Proffit Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
