

She was the eldest daughter of the late Ruby Gibson Sprouse and Frederick William Sprouse. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Clarence J. Thomas.
She is survived by one son, Mason Thomas and his wife, Debbie of Waynesboro. She is also survived by her granddaughter Amber Kay Thomas and great-granddaughter Addison Rylee Thomas of Waynesboro.
She is also survived by her brother Nelson Sprouse of Spring City, Tennessee; and her sisters Nancy Sprouse and her husband Clay, of Crozet; Bettie Hutcherson and her husband Jim of Stuarts Draft.
She is also survived by her step grandchildren, Johnny, Jesse, Diane, Dwayne, Robert and Nina along with a number of step great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Jeff Sprouse and his family of Greenwood; Clark Sprouse and his family of Myrtle Beach; Robin Hayslett and her family of Spring City, Tennessee; Terry Gortler and her family of Colcester, CT; Brian Hutcherson and his family of Fishersville; and Karen Douglas and her husband of Bloomington, IL.
Lucille retired from the University of Virginia Hospital after 30 years of service. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, where she started the ECW, in Ivy, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral service will be conducted at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Ivy on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 4 PM. Brian Hutcherson will officiate. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
