Obituary of Lulu Belle Martin
LuLu Belle Martin, age 80, of Colonial Beach, Virginia passed away peacefully Sunday August 4th, 2019 in Charlottesville Va. She was born in Butler, PA to the late Eva Quinaux Christy and William McKinley Christy. She eventually moved to Washington DC for work which is where she found the love of her life Eugene (Gene) Martin. Our hearts are broken!! Words cannot possibly describe how much she was loved. Lou (Lu Lu, Mom, Grandma (Mucka), Great Grandma), as she was known to all who loved her, was an awesome mother, wife, sister and daughter. She taught her three children Dave, Billy, and Nette how to live life to the fullest and represent the “Martin/Christy Family.” Lou’s greatest joys were spending time with her family, worshiping God, and cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Washington Nationals. Especially 3rd baseman Anthony Rendon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Gene Martin, her son William (Billy) Martin (Mom’s Buddy), sisters Rose Kimmel, Norma Carte, and Ora Leppert, and brothers Eugene Christy, George Christy and Paul Christy. Lou leaves behind her son David Martin (Heike), daughter Jeanette Altman (Jason), three grandchildren Patrick Martin (Amanda), Stefany Martin (Jim), and Jacob Altman, four great grandchildren Tatum, Parker, Chase and Phoenix, one beloved sister Linda Grim (Greg), two brothers Jim Christy (Carol) and Tom Christy, a large extended family and many dear and close friends whom she cherished. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 WOLFTRAP RD., VIENNA, VA 22182 on Thursday August 29, 2019 at 11 am. A cemetery service will immediately follow at National Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent directly to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (Twin Brook Florist in Chantilly, VA. 703 978 3700).
