Maggie Juanita Mays

Maggie Juanita Mays, 86, of Charlottesville, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at her home. Born October 23, 1928 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William and Maggie Ruth Morris Mays. In addition, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Mays, Lewis Mays and Lindsey Mays; one sister, Lorraine Mays Wright; one niece, Judith Yapo; and one nephew, Paul H. Wright, Sr. Juanita was a devout Christian whose life was a testimony to her faith. She was a long-time member of Charlottesville First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by one brother, Rev. Frank C. Mays and his wife Phyllis of Jacksonville, FL; three nieces, Sylvia Lloyd, Karen Payne and her husband Mike, and Bonnie Mays; one nephew, Phillip Mays; three great nieces, Paulette Wright, Nicole Shipp and Michelle Payne; and one great nephew, Paul Hampton Wright, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Bill Willis officiating. The family would like to thank Jennifer McLaughlin and Sherry Payne for their compassionate and loving care of Juanita.
