Margaret M. Brock

Margaret M. Brock passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021 at the Laurels of Charlottesville. Originally from New Bedford, Massachusetts she has lived with her daughter and 2 grandchildren in Charlottesville for the last 20 years. After graduation from high school she attended Forsyth Dental School in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked as a dental assistant for a number of years in the Washington, D.C. area before moving back to New England. After her marriage to Louis T. Brock, Jr in 1951, they moved around for a number of years before settling in Acton, Mass. Shortly after moving to Acton, Margaret went to work for the New England Deaconess Association in Concord, Massachusetts as Assistant to the Administrator. She remained there for over 20 years. Margaret eventually returned to school to fulfill a life long dream of earning her college degree. She graduated from Massachusetts Bay Community College with an Associates Degree and later from Lesley College in Boston with a Bachelors degree. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Brock of Charlottesville and her son, Brian Brock of Nashua, NH. She also has 6 grandchildren; Meagan and Abigail of Charlottesville, Emily and her husband and 2 children of Tulsa, OK, Jesse and his wife and 2 children from Pennsylvania, Tessa and her husband and 2 children from Nashua, NH and Hannah and her husband and daughter of Boise, ID. The family would like to thank the staff of the Laurels for taking good care of their mother, especially over this last year in a difficult time with COVID. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Hospice of the Piedmont. A graveside service will be held with the family later in the summer.
