Marie McCauley Bugg

Marie McCauley Bugg, 85, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Morningside Assisted Living Community. She fought a 17 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease with grace and dignity.
Born in Charlottesville on January 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Andrew F. McCauley and Bertha Dovel McCauley.
Marie was educated in Charlottesville and worked for the City of Charlottesville’s Treasurers office for thirty-nine years before retiring in 1993. She is a member of Cherry Avenue Christian Church. In 2001, Marie moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to live near son, Michael, in 2010 moved to Kernersville to live near son, Kevin, daughter-in-law, Lisa, and grandchildren, and in 2014, moved back to Charlottesville to live near son, Greg and daughter-in-law, Lisa.
Marie was one of eleven children. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Marie is the widow of Charles Robert (Bobby) Bugg. She is survived by three sons, Robert Gregory (Greg) Bugg (wife, Lisa) of North Garden, Va., Michael Bugg of Jacksonville, Fla. and Charles Kevin Bugg (wife, Lisa) of Kernersville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Charles (Charlie) Anthony Bugg, Aleksey Ann Bugg, Cari Atwell, Jonny Atwell; three great-grandchildren, Ava Grace Bright, Evangeline Morris and Brantley Atwell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Jerry, Ann, Kelly Arbogast, and her daughter-in-law, Lisa Hatcher Bugg. They also would like to thank the staff of Morningside and Legacy Hospice for their loving care of Marie.
Her funeral will held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at Cherry Avenue Christian Church in Charlottesville. A reception celebrating her will be held at the church following the funeral. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville.
