Mrs. Marie Florence Rice

Marie Florence (Lincoln) Rice February 28, 1927 - February 23, 2018 Marie Florence (Lincoln) Rice, 90, of Charlottesville, departed this life to join her loving husband of 66 years, Lester H. Rice, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on February 28, 1927, in Ridgewood, N.J., she was the youngest child of Alfred and Florence Agnes Lincoln. She is survived by her children, Bill Rice and wife, Connie of Schuyler, Jim Rice and wife, Laura of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Jack Rice of Charlottesville, Cathy Fink and her husband, Bob of York, Pa., and Susan Rice of Charlottesville; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. In her last years of life she had a wonderful nurse who became a very close friend, Jackie Gentry. The family wishes to thank Jackie for all her love and support. Marie was devoted to her children and grandchildren often supporting them in Scouts and many other community activities and sports. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. She worked for Belk (Leggett) for over 30 years and fully retired at the age of 80 to care for her husband.
