

MaryAnn March, 56, of Barboursville, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at a local hospital. Born July 26, 1959 in New York, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia Nocera of Bay Shore, Long Island, NY. Dr. March received her Doctorate in Immunology from the State University of N.Y. at Buffalo, and was employed as a biological analyst with the U.S. Department of the Army - National Ground Intelligence Center. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation, and had a strong and supportive Christian faith. MaryAnn was a long time breast cancer survivor and was instrumental in helping and advising numerous other women in battling their disease. She was always willing to lend a hand to those women who were confused or overwhelmed with the various treatment options available. Her determination and desire to overcome cancer and enjoy life to its fullest was inspiring. She is survived by her husband, Douglas March, and two sons, Nathaniel David March and Adam Francis March, all of Charlottesville. She is also survived by numerous sisters and brothers in law, aunts, uncles and cousins from the New York City and Buffalo, N.Y. areas. Her love of her sons and family were the ultimate focus of her life, and she will be immensely missed by all. Although there was tough competition with others in her family, her meatballs were still the best. A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Church of the Incarnation. The family will welcome friends at a reception at the church after the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Church of the Incarnation.
