Mildred Newcombe Powell

Mildred, a native of Virginia, was born April 1, 1929 to the late Roscoe B Newcombe and Katherine Johnson Newcombe.

Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lemuel Edward Powell and her son Gary Lemuel Powell.

Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Pamela Powell of Gordonsville, VA and Elaine Rainey (Archie) of Lewisville, TX. She also leaves behind grandchildren Keisha Jackson of Zion Crossroads, VA, Megan Milazzotto of Plano TX, Erin Vargas of Denton, TX, Stephanie Chickey of SC, Meredith Welch of WA, and Nick Powell of SC as well as numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Rd, Charlottesville, VA. Funeral will be at 11:30 in the Teague Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA. Immediately following the graveside service, a luncheon will be held at Mount View Baptist Church, 908 St Clair Ave, Charlottesville VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's honor to Hospice of the Piedmont.
