Myron John Borsdam, 80, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly January 15, 2022. He is survived by the love of his life since high school, Jill Mackle Borsdam, daughter, Kara Lyn Chandeysson, son-in-law, Mark Alan Chandeysson, and cherished grandsons, Cooper John and Davis Mackle Chandeysson. He was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1941 and graduated from Honesdale High School. After honorable service in the United States Army, Myron embarked on a 35-year career with Bell Atlantic, living in Honesdale, Reading and Yardley, Pennsylvania before retiring to South Carolina and then Virginia. He was an avid reader of military history and enjoyed visiting historical sites. Anyone who knew Myron, felt his love and devotion to his family. Myron and Jill enjoyed spending much time with their grandsons, and especially loved watching Cooper play basketball, and listening to Davis play the piano. Myron’s hobby was perfecting every lawn of every home they owned with the most impeccably groomed lawn, perfectly trimmed shrubs and beautifully grown flowers. Above all, he cherished and found great joy in his role as “Pop Pop” to his most beloved grandsons. Myron loved to share stories with his family and friends and was a true friend to many. Most importantly, his love and devotion to Jill was felt by all. Myron was a pillar of strength to his family, a larger than life personality, and a friend to everyone he met.
A memorial service is scheduled at First Presbyterian Church 500 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 on Tuesday, January 25 at 10:30am. A military burial will be scheduled later in the year in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
