Pamela Jean Hoover

Pamela J Hoover (Pam) of Waynesboro Va passed away on Saturday August 15, 2026 at the age of 73. She was born on December 21, 1952, in Lexington, Va. Pam retired from the University of Virginia Physicians Group.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Hoover the love of her life. Pam is survived by her sister Barbara (Susan) Hartless and her spouse Joe Sutherland. She also had a very supportive network of friends and neighbors, especially Toni and Eric Painter who became family through their love and kindness.

Pam was a very outgoing and caring person. She never met a stranger and was most definitely the life of the party. She absolutely sparkled when she entered the room.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care she received from Waynesboro Rescue Squad, Augusta Medical Center and the staff of UVA Medical Center – most especially all those who cared for her on 3rd Floor West and 3rd Floor Central as she transitioned to her final home.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date. As there will be no formal service please consider making a donation in her honor to your local rescue squad/fire department.
