Hi Alma!
My condolences on the death of your mother, Phyllis. I first met her when she worked at the old Martha Jefferson Hospital cafeteria. I ate a breakfast there, and she invited me back, and I never stopped coming back for breakfast or lunch until they moved up on Pantops Mountain.
She had that 3:00 a.m. time to rise in her bones. If work didn't force her to get up at that time, she still would rise then. She couldn't shake it off.
She could really make you laugh! She used to tell me stories about working at the University Diner, and how she named you after her boss there. I am glad she lived such a long life.
I know Emma Denton will really miss her, too. I have court on Thursday, so I won't be able to make the services. Stay in touch.
