Rebecca Lee Gibson, 84, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 17, 1941, in Buckingham, Virginia, Rebecca was the daughter of Willie and Annie Branch. Later, she worked at Sam's Club, continuing to bring her strong work ethic and friendly spirit to everyone she met.
Rebecca was truly one of a kind—a firecracker with a lively personality and a deep love for life. She had a way of bringing energy and laughter wherever she went, and her presence was unforgettable to those who knew her. She especially enjoyed traveling to Pigeon Forge and Charlestown, places that brought her happiness and many cherished memories.
She shared her life with her husband, Harold "Phil" Gibson, and together they built a family rooted in love and devotion. Rebecca was a loving mother to six children, a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a treasured great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved each of them deeply. She is also survived by one sister, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rebecca will be remembered for her spirited nature, her love for family, and the genuine, heartfelt way she lived her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
