
Robert “Bobby” Austin Hunt, 82, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on February 24, 2026, in the town where he was born and spent his life.
Bobby was born on March 12, 1943, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to James A. Hunt and Margaret Nuckols Hunt. A lifelong resident of the community he loved, Bobby was known for his strong work ethic, friendly spirit, and dedication to those around him.
More than 40 years ago, Bobby founded Bob’s Wash on Wheels, building it from the ground up into a respected local business. Through his hard work and commitment to quality service, he formed lasting relationships with customers and friends throughout the area.
Outside of his work, Bobby found great joy outdoors. He was an avid hunter who cherished time spent in the woods, and he had a deep appreciation for antique cars. Whether restoring, admiring, or talking about classic automobiles, Bobby’s enthusiasm was evident to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Dave and Brenda Hill, and by his stepson, Eric McFarlane and his wife, Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Hunt and Margaret Nuckols Hunt and his son Brian Hunt.
