Ronnie Lee Woodson

Ronnie Lee Woodson, 66, of Charlottesville, went home on Sunday, June 7, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Born May 6, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Mary Ida Woodson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John “Sonny” Woodson, Jr. and brothers-in-law, Steve Bishop and Charles Barnett. Ronnie retired from UPS in 2014. He never met a stranger and you knew when you saw him coming, your day was about to turn a little bit brighter. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Fitzgerald of Esmont and two special young men, Kevin Sullivan of Ruckersville and Travis Dean of Orange. He is also survived by Mary Allen Ecklund of Fayetteville, NC, Robin Barnett of Charlottesville, Delilah “Dee” Bishop of Haymarket, Bobbie Woodson, Donald “Donnie” Woodson and Bunnie Woodson, all of Charlottesville; and nine nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Ronnie very much. Ronnie leaves two special friends Carlos and Lacy. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Holly Memorial Gardens.
