Roy Carter

Eddie was born October 17th, 1958 in Charlottesville Va to Roy Carter/Herman Hawkins and Flossie Hawkins. Eddie attended Charlottesville High School where he graduated and was also a longtime employee for the Charlottesville School Transportation Department. Eddie went on from working with the city to working for Floor Fashions of Va for many years as he happened to be a jack of all trades.

While being a jack of all trades he met the love of his life (better known as his Sparrow) Vera, who he married on May 17th, 1980. Eddie was a kind and humble individual and his love for Jehovah God showed in everything he did. A true one of a kind with a smile that was worth a thousand words. Eddie enjoyed being with family especially his grandkids.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father’s Herman Hawkins Sr. and Roy Carter Jr, his sister Sharon Molina and brother Allen Hawkins.

Eddie is survived by Vera Carter Hawkins, wife (Charlottesville). Eddie's children Tamika Harris and Eriqua Carter (Charlottesville). Eddie has five grandchildren... Aneyssa Harris, Amir Harris, Jaydacus Harris Allen, Jazmyn Carter Page, and Sierrah Carter (Charlottesville)

Eddie has a total of 12 siblings. Herman Hawkins Jr, and Robert Hawkins of Charlottesville. Roy Carter III of Troy VA, Cordelia Jaudon and husband Willie of Zion Crossroads VA, Eric Carter and wife Barbara of Troy VA, Cassandra Carter of Palmyra VA, Angela Woodson and husband Kenneth of Fork Union VA, Wendell Carter and wife Karen of FL, Kenneth Carter of FL, and Kevin Carter of FL with a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
