Shirley Dudley Gibson

November 30, 1937 to the late William Harvey Dudley and Dolly Wood Dudley. Her husband,

William Caudell Gibson, also predeceased her in 1998.

Shirley worked at Ovenair in Charlottesville for many years prior to opening a daycare for infants

and toddlers in her home. She enjoyed this career until her retirement.

Shirley is survived by her three sons and their wives, Allen D. Gibson (Mary), Ricky L. Gibson

(Betty) and Wendell W. Gibson (Becky). She is also survived by three grandsons, Shane

Gibson, Joshua Gibson and Matthew Gibson. In addition, a host of other family and friends

share fond memories of Shirley’s tell-it-like-it-is personality and lively spirit.

A graveside service at Holly Memorial Gardens will be held on Tuesday, August 16 at 11am.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, from 6 - 8pm at Teague Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank or a

favorite charity
