Stella H. Hunt

Born on July 27, 1939, in Amherst, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Nancy Tomlin Hartless.

Stella was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was her family. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness throughout her life.

A woman of faith, Stella was a member of Bybee’s Road Baptist Church. Throughout the years, she was actively involved in the many churches she attended, generously giving her time and sharing her faith until her declining health no longer allowed her to do so.

In addition to her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph D. Hunt; her son, Charles Edward “Charles Eddie” Dolan; and her two sisters, Shirley Fuller and Nancy Nelson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sue Cottle and her husband, Ronnie, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Vicky Sipe and her husband, Frank, of Palmyra, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Harris and her husband, R.M.; and her brother, Phil Hartless and his wife, Susan.

Stella leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Jennifer HuYoung, Karrie Dolan, Brandon Dolan, Cory Dolan, Travis Cottle, Jessica Rabaa, Frankie Sipe, and Kristina Besecker; as well as 13 cherished great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Stella’s dear neighbors, Darlene Sanchez and Lawrence Birkhead, for their kindness and friendship.

They are also deeply grateful to Dr. Scott Goldberg for his dedicated care and to the compassionate staff at Hillsdale Health and Rehab for the love, kindness, and care they provided Stella.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Monticello Memory Gardens, with Pastor Darren McCauley officiating.
