

Steve was predeceased by his father Lovell Coleman Sr., his mother Angye Rogofsky, and his brothers Tommy Coleman, Lovell Coleman Jr., and Max Coleman.
Steve is survived by his siblings Sharon Coleman; Suzanne McDonald and husband Rick; Kenny Coleman and wife Rose; Nancy Miller and husband George; Mike Coleman and wife Lisa along with his nephews Bailey McDonald and wife Becca; and Jacob Coleman; and his nieces Olivia Duffy and Ava Duffy. His life also included a large extended family of relatives and friends.
Steve grew up in Earlysville and attended Albemarle High School. Throughout his life, he was a man of quiet presence and few words, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him through his calm demeanor and steady spirit. He found joy in music, football, and spending evenings watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune—simple pleasures that brought him comfort and connection.
In recent years, Steve resided at TownCreek Assisted Living, where he was cared for with compassion. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their kindness and support during this time.
Steve’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his quiet strength bring solace to all who mourn his passing. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Teague Funeral Services located at 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA.
Steve’s final resting place will be Panorama Natural Burial in Earlysville, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations be made to a local, preferred charity.
