Wayne Carson Crawford Sr., of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home on Quarry Road on July 12, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on April 3, 1948, and raised in Bacon Hollow, Virginia, Wayne was the son of the late Andrew and Margie Crawford.
Wayne had a lifelong career in the construction industry, ranging from a carpenter, contractor, and later became a business owner. Wayne found his greatest joy in hunting, riding horses, playing country music, and spending time with his family. He was also passionate about giving back to his community and generously volunteered his time as Vice President of the Monticello Little League, where he made a lasting impact on countless young athletes and their families.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Crawford; their children, Jeremy Crawford and Teresa Crawford; his children, Neil Crawford (Donna), April Rhodes (David), Conrad Crawford, Waynesa Drewry (Andy), and Matthew Crawford (Lindsey); and Monica Holloway. He is also survived by his siblings, Kenny Crawford (Jean), Charles Crawford (Shirley), Wanda Hensley (Virgil), and Ellen Crawford, as well as his 17 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Crawford, and his son, “Little” Wayne Crawford Jr.
A visitation will be held on July 15, 2026 from 6-8pm at Teague Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Anderson will be officiating the funeral service on July 16, 2026 at 10am at Teague Funeral Home with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
