Weston was the eldest son of Matthew and Danielle Megan (Dunning) Herndon of Crozet. Left to cherish his memory, along with his parents, are Weston’s beloved brothers: Walker, Whitman, Warren, and Waylon Herndon. Weston is also survived by his paternal grandparents Frank Herndon (Anne) and Laurie (Karl) Partner; maternal grandparents RD Dunning and Wanda (Jay) Knight; and a plethora of adoring extended family and dear friends.
Prior to his illness, Weston attended Crozet Elementary School where he was known for being a friend to everyone and an abundant source of humor and joy. He had impeccable style and never left home without being dressed in perfectly matching clothes and shoes. He was the most handsome blue-eyed boy.
During Weston’s time on Earth, he graced everyone he met with joy and a vibrant sense of humor. Weston relished his role as a big brother and fiercely loved his younger brothers along with his cousins. All those who knew and loved Weston will carry his precious spirit in their hearts.
Even in the most trying times during his cancer journey, Weston remained positive. He was a courageous warrior who battled bravely until the very end. Weston was never alone in his fight, with love and prayers continuously sent by beloved friends on the Weston’s Warriors Facebook page. Weston’s family is forever grateful for the love and support. The Family would like to thank the wonderful team at Children's National Hospital Dr. Eugene Hwang, Dr. Roger Packer, Julia, Emily, and Kate. Along with his amazing nurse Linda for the outstanding care and love they gave Weston.
To celebrate Weston’s precious time on Earth, the family will host a Celebration of Life, on Monday October 12, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at King Family Vineyards 6550 Roseland Farm, Crozet, VA 22932. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Weston’s honor to a children’s cancer charity.
