William was born on January 8, 1951, in Newport News, Va, to the late Clyde Benton and Cleo Irene Rudd Claytor. He attended RETS Technical Training Center in Baltimore, and was an Electrical Engineer for the City of Charlottesville, running the reservoir for several years.
William is survived by his brothers, Clyde Benton Claytor, Jr., Steven Rudd Claytor, and Edward Dale Claytor; and his son, William Price Claytor, Jr.
