William Daniel Tucker IV

William Daniel Tucker IV, known to nearly everyone as “Tee,” passed away on September 20, 2026, from natural causes.

Born July 6, 1970, Tee was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia, the community he called home throughout his life. He was a Realtor in the Charlottesville area for more than 30 years and, most recently, worked for Tucker Griffin Barnes P.C.

More than any job or title, however, Tee will be remembered for the way he cared about people.

Tee loved his family. He was a devoted father to his children, William Daniel “Liam” Tucker V and Megan Salgado, whom he loved deeply. He cherished his family and the many relationships that shaped his life, and he was deeply loved in return.

For 24 years, Tee was immersed in the recovery community, a community that became an enormous part of his life and his identity. Recovery was not simply something Tee participated in; it was something he lived. He believed in service, in showing up for others, and in extending a hand to someone who needed one. Over more than two decades, he helped countless people along their own journeys, gave freely of his time, and formed friendships that became an important part of his life.

Tee always had a smile and a laugh for everyone. He never met a stranger or knew an enemy. His heart and his arms were open to people from all walks of life, and if someone needed help, friendship, encouragement, or simply another person in their corner, Tee was there. The many friendships he formed throughout his life—and particularly within the recovery community—are a testament to the way he loved and accepted people.

Tee was also a devoted sports fan who spent his life loyal to UVA sports and the Miami Dolphins.

Tee is survived by his children, William Daniel “Liam” Tucker V and Megan Salgado; his mother, Kay Ruffner; his father, William “Bill” Tucker III, and mother, Elly Tucker; his sister, Dory Doyle, and her husband, Tim; his niece and nephew, Audrey and David; his brother, Joshua Tucker ( Kam Moraco) ; his beloved cats, Noel and Tino; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and others who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Jennifer Stitzer, who helped make the last few months of his life happy and exciting.

Tee leaves behind far more than can be captured in a list of names or accomplishments. His legacy lives in his children, his family, his many friends, and in the recovery community to which he devoted so much of himself. It lives in the people he helped, the laughter he shared, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless times he opened his heart to someone who needed it.

For those fortunate enough to have known Tee, there will be stories, smiles, and laughter alongside the sadness of losing him. And for the many people whose lives he touched during his 24 years in recovery, his example of service and fellowship will continue long after his passing.
