

Woodrow W. Davis (Woody) departed this life on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He is survived by Jeanette, his loving wife of 55 years. He is survived by 4 daughters: Ginger Ange and husband Jeff, Valerie Race and husband Paul, Mary Hensley and husband David, Becky McGee and children, and 12 grandchildren who were so special to him: Lauren Ange, Lindsay Ellis, Brittany, Andrew, and Alex Frazier, Shelby Race, and Crystal and Amber Hensley. Three brothers preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy. He served in the United States Army in Korea and was recalled and spent another year at Fort Lee. Woody retired from Sprint after 30 years of service. He served as elder and deacon at Piedmont Christian Church at Stony Point having been an active member for 50 years. He was devoted to serving God. His faith was constant and never wavered. Woody had a giving spirit and availed himself to helping others, and he was an inspiration to his family. He was their confidante and friend. Being an outside person, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. As a husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Woody will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 AM at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM that day at the funeral home, and the burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Hospice, 500 Faulconer Dr. Suite 100, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
