Betty was born on June 24, 1941, in Louisville, KY, the Daughter of Paul and Bessie (Bradshaw) Whitmer. She married the love of her life, Steve Fowler, on December 27, 1970, in Pekin, IL. They shared 55 years of marriage together.
In her early life, Betty was a wonderful Mom and homemaker. She had a long and successful career as a real estate broker with William Gaule Real Estate–Auction Services, retiring after 40 years of service.
Known for her incredible sense of humor, Betty was always laughing—and often making others laugh right along with her. She also had a deep appreciation for flowers, which she enjoyed planting in her yard every spring. This brought her great happiness and joy.
Above all, the most important thing in Betty’s life was her family. She loved her family with all her heart. A devoted Mom and Grandma, she cherished every moment spent with her kids and grandkids. Her love and support for her family were unmatched and unconditional.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Bessie; Son, Darrell Lott, whom she missed dearly every single day; Brother, Donald Whitmer; and her dear Aunt Retta Baize.
Betty is survived by her Husband, Steve Fowler of Chatham; Son, Steve P. (Melissa) Fowler of Chatham; Daughter, Dianne (Steve) Galloway of Chatham; six Grandchildren, Christelle (Matt) Jackson, Michelle (Chris) Lehnhoff, Lauren Galloway, Daniel Lott and Todd and Matthew Fowler; two Great Grandchildren, Hudson & Kennedy Lehnhoff; and Daughter-in-Law, Nancy Lott.
