She was born in Fancy Prairie on October 29, 1939, the daughter of Lawrence B. and Sylvania (Fuller) Taylor. Beverly married Ronald Glenn Workman in Chatham on March 14, 1966.
Beverly lived most of her life in Chatham and was a faithful member of Chatham United Methodist Church. Beverly was a member of United Methodist Women, Bible studies, the communion committee, and helped prepare funeral meals. Beverly worked in the family business, Ron’s Service Center, with her husband, on South 6th Street in Springfield. Beverly cherished her time working with elementary students in the Reading with a Grandparent Program, through the Chatham schools. Beverly was an animal lover and never met a dog she couldn’t pet. In her spare time, she loved to play pinochle, go to the Chatham Library for a good book to read, and feed her family a delicious meal. Desserts, however, were her specialty, including homemade ice cream, snickerdoodles, and cheesecake. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, telling stories and sharing a laugh around the table.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; sister, Virginia Heckler; and son, Kirk Workman.
Beverly is survived by her children, Debbie Murphy, Scott (Shannon) Workman, Todd (Maria) Workman, and Dawn (Joe) Roesch; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law, Kim Pitchford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
