Clara H. Arnold

She was born on August 11, 1933, in Lafayette, TN, the daughter of Clessie and Pauline (Driver) Doss. Clara married Junior D. Arnold on February 17, 1954, in Chatham. He preceded her in death.

Clara graduated from Macon County High School in Tennessee. She went on to work for Franklin Life Insurance and then later for Larry’s IGA. Clara was a faithful member of Chatham Christian Church for over 40 years and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, quilting, reading, cooking (she was a great cook who specialized in fried chicken and pies), and spending time with her family. Clara was known as feisty, caring, and loving.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Rulene Brockett and Talmadge Doss; son, Craig Arnold; and granddaughters, Carissa Cundiff and Laura Palazzolo.

Clara is survived by her children, Belinda (Jeffrey Curtis) Palazzolo of Girard, Sharon Arnold of Chatham, Karon (Duston) Traylor of Girard, and Teresa (Terry) Bearden of Lake Frederick, VA; grandchildren, Jennie, Lizzie, Shaun, Eric, Conner, Jayce, Logan, Luke, and Megan; great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Harper, Anabell, Hazel, and Parker; brother, Christopher Warren (Jackie) Doss of Lafayette, TN; daughter-in-law, Leta (Bruce) Bilyeu of Loami; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home – Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, followed by the Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Rick Wenneborg officiating.

Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami.
