

He was born in Palmyra, IL on September 2, 1938, the son of Ernest Cecil and Ruth Irene (Pinkerton) Denney.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a highly accomplished electrician. In his free time, David devoted himself to studying the Bible, writing insightful Bible commentaries, and spending meaningful time with his family.
In retirement, he continued to serve others through a dedicated nursing home ministry that spanned several decades—at times preaching up to eight services a week to local residents. A faithful member of First Christian Church of Girard, David found great joy in teaching and living out his faith through acts of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Alan Howell.
David is survived by his aunt, Louise Denney Molen; brother, Donald Cecil (Wanda Pierson) Denney; nephew, Jeffrey Cecil (Ellen) Denney; and nieces, Gail Denney Shelton and Audrey Denney (Dana) Reischauer.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
