She was born in Springfield on May 15, 1959, the daughter of Don and Nancy (Frye) Anderson. Jan married Michael Tuchmann on May 30, 1986, at South Side Christian Church.
Jan graduated from Springfield High School. She later earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Illinois State University and her RN degree from Lincoln Land Community College. Jan started her nursing career at Memorial Hospital, then later worked for Memorial Home Hospice. After retiring, she became a substitute RN for Chatham schools. Jan was an avid Illini and Cubs fan, but her greatest joy was watching her grandkids play. She also loved watching the Hallmark Channel, spending the holidays with her family, and chocolate. Her family proudly owned Pease’s for many years. Jan was blessed with the gift of gab and never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Anderson.
Jan is survived by her husband, Michael; father, Don; children, Megan (fiancé, Miah) Tuchmann of Elkhart, Ashton (Nick) Kern of Pleasant Plains, Derek Tuchmann of St. Louis, and Taylor (partner, Alex) Tuchmann of Chatham; grandchildren, Mason, Mari, Hallie, Lilly, Nova, and Hudson; siblings, Doug (Kim) Anderson of Sherman and Jill (Tadd) Schroeder of Chatham; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home - Chatham, 8855 State Rte. 4, Chatham.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Salisbury Christian Church, 7523 Walnut St., Salisbury, IL.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
