

Jean was born September 21, 1932, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Jules and Ruth Ribar. She married Walt Clevenger in 1974; he preceded her in death on September 10, 1998.
Jean graduated from Lanphier High School and was employed at several libraries. She also worked for Marian Center Catholic Bookstore in Springfield and was a school crossing guard. Jean was a member of St. Joseph the Worker where she sang in the choir and was involved in various programs. She was talented in arts and crafts, painting, and was involved in her children’s sporting events.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Frank L. and James P. Besjak.
Jean is survived by her son, Dennis Besjak of Idabel, OK; daughter, Geralyn Baxter-Hoyt of Dallas, TX ; stepsons, Walt “Butch” (Linda) Clevenger and Paul Leann) Clevenger; step-daughter, Vicki Megginson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Holy Cross Parish at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 410 North Auburn St., Auburn, IL with Rev. James Palakudy, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery
