

Joe was born October 7, 1954, in Monett, MO, the son of the late Earl and Naomi (Cross) Snyder.
Joe attended school until 1975 and then began working at a sheltered workshop building pallets. When he stopped working, he did so to help provide care for his mother. Joe had many interests including bowling in the special Olympics, drawing "house plans," coloring scriptural cards, writing out Bible verses, and he made many colorful paintings as he was part of a painting class for individuals with special needs. Joe had quite a sweet tooth, with some of his favorites being honey buns, cheesecake, and cinnamon rolls. He was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith (Snyder) Edwards.
He is survived by his sisters, Alma Anne (Snyder) Koch and Richard Koch of Macungie, PA, and his sister Joyce (Snyder) Sorenson and Lynn Sorenson of Bonner Springs, KS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Special thanks are being given to Reflections Memory Care in Chatham, who provided him with loving care for over a year, to Castle Manor Nursing Home in Lincoln, as well as the Lincoln Memorial Hospital rehabilitation unit who provided him with exceptional care following the multiple hospitalizations he had toward the end of his life.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
