Joy Ann McFarden

Joy was born on June 18, 1949, in Peoria, the daughter of Fred and Betty (Wrigney) Laylock. She married Michael L. McFarden on January 4, 1969, in Creve Coeur, IL. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2024.

Joy graduated from East Peoria High School. She was employed with One Source Equipment Rentals before retiring. In her spare time, Joy enjoyed quilting, playing Bunco with her friends, camping at state parks with her family, and being outdoors gardening, where she always loved having her hands in dirt.

Joy was preceded in death by husband; and parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Curt) Eaker of East Peoria, and Mindy (Matthew) Booker of Chatham; grandchildren, Curt, Brandon (Spouse, Val Davis), and Kiersten Eaker, and Emma, Benjamin, Ryan, and Matthew Booker; great-grandchildren, Owen and Kylo Eaker; brothers, Rick and Walt Laylock; and sister, Patricia Starrett.
