

She was born on August 31, 1948, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Joseph M. and Rose C. (Wilson) Eddington. Judy married Ronald R. Blakley on July 20, 1968, at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Springfield.
Judy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1966, and earned her higher education degrees from Springfield College in Illinois, American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Eastern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University. She gave piano lessons for many years, and taught music courses at local community colleges and at Illinois State University. Judy was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing the organ and singing for weddings and funerals, playing card games, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ron Blakley of Chatham; daughters, Regina (Mike) Benson and Christina (Lance) Brown; sons, Matthew (Emily), Mark, and Michael (Marie) Blakley; six grandchildren; and two siblings, Dominican Sister Mary Trinita Eddington O.P. of Jackson, MS, and James Eddington.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 700 E. Spruce St., Chatham.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph M. Molloy, celebrant. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Joseph the Worker primarily for masses to be said for Judy.
