Kathleen "Kitty" Rockwood

Kathleen “Kitty” Rockwood, 63, of Chatham, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her family on November 1, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband, John Rockwood; her son, Daniel Rockwood and his wife, Ericka, along with their son, Henry; and her daughter, Katie Milcic and her husband, Matt. Kitty is also survived by her brother, Stephen Schendel and his wife, Debbie, of Dallas, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Merlin and Jeannine Schendel, and her older brother, Mark Schendel.

Kitty was known for her kind and generous spirit, always showing love through acts of service. She never let anyone leave her home hungry — she had a gift for feeding people, both in body and soul. Her kitchen was often full of laughter, good food, and even better company.

She found great joy in spending time with her grandson, Henry, who brought her endless smiles. She cherished her farmers market Saturdays, shopping trips, and adventurous vacations, as well as simple moments spent at home with family. Kitty’s warmth, humor, and nurturing heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in memory of Kitty at a later date.
