Lois Jean Mahoney

Lois was born August 7, 1938, in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence and Mae (Winesburg) Bolt. She married Joseph John Mahoney on August 2, 1957, in Springfield, IL.

Lois graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, IL. After high school, she went on to work for Internal Revenue in Springfield, where she was employed for over 20 years. Lois was a member of St. Joseph the Worker, in Chatham, IL. She enjoyed crafting, making pictures, creating floral arrangements, traveling to Florida, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mae; and an infant daughter, Sheryl Ann Mahoney.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Susan Mahoney of Davie, FL; son, Michael Mahoney of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brian, and Grace Perez de la Mesa of Ft Lauderdale, FL; and sister, Carol Gibbs of Springfield, IL.

The family will receive friends at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
