

She was born in Curran on April 1, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Ollie (Flowers) Harney. Mary married Earl Herman Bilyeu on November 30, 1946.
Mary graduated from New Berlin High School in 1946. She cherished her family deeply and her biggest accomplishment was raising her 8 children as well as helping with her grandchildren. Mary found joy in playing card games, trying her luck at slot machines, and spending time outside looking for deer and wildlife. She loved sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; sons, Terry and Craig Bilyeu; and siblings, Eddie, Gene, and Marie Harney, Dorothy Cloyd, and Anna Mae Bilyeu.
Mary is survived by her sons, Bruce (Leta), Kevin (Mary), and Rodney (Aida) Bilyeu; daughters, Lisa Hill of Curran, Pamela Eberhardt of Springfield, and Melissa Bilyeu of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Irene), John (Judy), Jim (Linda), and Linda Harney; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham, until the time of the ceremony at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Josh Rutledge officiating. Guests are invited to wear their favorite baseball attire.
Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
