He was born on April 30, 1956, in Springfield, IL, the firstborn child of Ruby and Eldon (Gene) Couse. Rex was later joined by his sister, Sheri Sue; half-siblings, Randy, Eric, Mark, Laurie, and Jason Clouse, and Linda Martin. He never married but was in a long-term relationship and helped raise his daughter, Sarah.
Private family services were held, with burial at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
