

She was born December 18,1930, in Chatham, Illinois, the daughter of William and Judy (Colvin) Dickey.
Ruth worked at Chatham Village and then later Franklin Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed spending time with her family, entertaining her grandchildren and later great grandchildren, who call her G.G., cross stitching, watching St. Louis Cardinals games, and making her famous chicken & noodles for family who requested them often. She was a member of the Woodside United Methodist Church in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bill Branham; her grandson, Chad Wright; seven sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” (Karen) Branham of Chatham; daughter, Judy (Ed) Wright of Springfield; daughter-in-law Jill Pence of Chatham; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Jankousky of Chatham and Reagan (Greg) Branham of St. Louis; five great grandchildren, Abigail and Ethan Wright, of Springfield, Taryn and Tyler Jankousky of Chatham, and Quinn Jonsson of St. Louis; many nieces and nephews; and two bonus granddaughters, Carmen and Melany Hawkins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home - Chatham, 8855 State Rte. 4, Chatham, until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
