

Sherry was born August 24, 1937, in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Ken and Florence (McClelland) MacKenzie.
Sherry graduated as a registered nurse from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She married Harold Morgan on September 27, 1958, and they began their adventures traveling together through the US. After the family settled in Chatham, Illinois, and Sherry enjoyed her career at St. John’s Hospital. She loved raising her family, being involved in the Chatham United Methodist Church, and living in a community with extended family and friends. Sherry continued nursing post-retirement.
Harold and Sherry spent winters in Orlando where Sherry fulfilled her dream of working at Disneyworld. In both Florida and Illinois, she lived her faith and accumulated hours of volunteer service for nonprofits.
The importance of faith in her life was steadfast; she last attended Cotton Hill United Methodist Church as a member. Sherry was loving, kind, generous, happy, and always there for anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Florence.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Harold Morgan of Springfield; daughters, Marcia (Charlie) Caciano of Kirkwood, MO, Janice (Paul Robben) Morgan of Springfield, IL, and Pam Morgan (Robert Harlem) of Wheaton, IL; seven grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Hall; her brothers, Wayne and Jim (Cheryl) MacKenzie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation will be provided prior to ceremonies by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering & Services: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629.
A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Madden officiating. Friends and family are invited to join a luncheon immediately following the service.
