Sue "Susie" L. Droll

Suz was born on September 7, 1962, to Mary Beneze and Ira Blackshare. Susie was very passionate about being a loving homemaker and always accepted anyone who needed love and a place to be loved. She touched countless lives with her compassion, generosity, bigheartedness, and warmth. She brought happiness to those around her and her strength and resilience inspired many. Susie was a skilled seamstress who tackled sewing projects from making wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses to repairing boy scout tents. Susie's talent for quilting was also very creative and each quilt had her love and specific design for the person she made it for. Whether she was playing or singing at home, teaching others, or performing at church, Susie displayed exceptional passion and skill for music. She was well versed at playing the piano, accordion, violin, drums, and singing. Susie had a sweet voice and will be greatly missed by all who's lives she was in and touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary (Bunny) Laughlin; brother, Jack Giddeon; and nephews, Bruce Abernathy, TJ Jones, and JR Jones.

Susie is survived by her husband, Terry J. Droll of Friendsville, TN; sisters, Tessy Masters of Decatur, IL, and Artie Hamilton; brothers, Marvin (Jip) Jones of OK, Terry Jones of Decatur, IL, Gary (Shirly) Blackshare of Hacket, AR, and Jerry Blackshare; children, Andrew (Jana) Laughlin of Edmond, OK, Melissa Clemence of Friendsville, TN, Stacey Droll of Carbondale, IL, Skyler Droll of Carterville, IL, Ronnie Clemence of Chatham, Travis (Amanda) Droll of Gulfport, MS, Kevin (Alysa) Clemence of Chatham, and Emily Beiler of Edwardsville; nephew, AJ Beiler of Decatur; niece, Marie Beiler of Decatur; and grandchildren, Paycen, Archer, Susie, Cecilia, Lucy, Lincoln, Jackson, Dylon, Wally, Carter, Jordan, Tyson, and Elaina.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rte. 4, Chatham. Ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m.

A memorial dinner will follow at Lakeside Christian Church, 225 Toronto Rd., Springfield.
