She was born on November 11, 1936, in Macoupin County, IL, the daughter of William and Nellie (Klaus) McWard.
Virginia worked as a data entry clerk for the state of Illinois for 28 years until her retirement in 1992. She loved her family and adored animals.
She is preceded by her parents; brothers, Dale and Don McWard; daughter, Valerie Quick; and grandson, Jacob Quick.
Virginia is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda (Rich) Cooley of Springfield, IL and Christopher Quick of Buffalo, IL; great grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, Carson, and Morgan Cooley; sister, Mary (Bob) Mc Glaughlin of Houston, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery, 2001 N. 1st St., Springfield, IL 62702 with Fr. Jayke White, officiating.
