Andrew Patrick Doane

May 18, 1968September 20, 2020

Andrew Patrick Doane, 52, of Chatham, MA passed away unexpectedly at home on September 20, 2020. He was born on May 18, 1968 at Cape Cod Hospital, son of Tommy Doane and the late Pella Cooling. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Tommy and Linda Doane, his sister and nephew, Kristen and Matthew Doane, his sister and brother-in-law, Katy and Dan VanderZwaag, aunt and uncle Donna and David Carter, cousins Lindsey Hedrick and Melissa Carter and aunt Joan Doane and cousins Ron Doane, Rick Doane and Michael McAllister and stepfathers Bruce Gibson and William Cooling. He is predeceased by his mother, Pella Cooling and brother, Thomas (Tod) Doane.

Andy went to Chatham Public Schools and later attended Cape Cod Tech making lifelong friends along the way. He worked for his stepfather, Bill, at Chatham Tree Service and then went on to work for his father at Tommy Doane Inc. He spent his life mastering the skill of laying tile in some of the nicest homes on Cape Cod. Being a true Cape Codder, Andy seldom liked to go over the bridge; but 20 years ago, at the urging of his mother, Pella, he traveled to Montana to visit his sister Katy and brother-in-law Dan. He fell in love with the state and made it his second home, visiting throughout the year. His nephew, Matthew was blessed enough to share in his many adventures. Andy had some of the best days of his life snowmobiling the mountain peaks in the winter, dirt biking the hillsides in the spring, rafting the river and cliff jumping during the summer. Andy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
