Andy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to a large family stretching throughout New England, to Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Nevada and California.
He was born on February 6, 1933, in New Rochelle, NY and raised in Waterbury, CT by his mother Jennie (Coviello) Zarrella alongside his brothers Salvatore, Patrick and Daniel Zarrella.
Andy fought faithfully for our country in Korea. After his return home he married the love of his life Kathleen (Kay) Sheehan in May 1956 and raised four children; Michael, Daniel, Andrea and Kathleen along with 20+ years’ worth of pets and all the trouble four kids could muster.
While he worked many trades (caterer, home fixture designer, leather crafter), his stock in trade was Tool and Die maker, ultimately starting his own business which he operated for over 20 years.
After retirement, Andy and Kay enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in Waterbury, until moving to Cape Cod in 2023.
Andy was pre-deceased by his mother, his brother Pat and Pat’s wife Mary Jane, brother Sal and Sal’s wife Yolanda, his niece Barbara, his nephew John, his in-laws Bob and May Perry and Leroy and Peggy Fitzgerald, along with countless friends. He is survived by his loving wife, his brother Dan, his grateful children and their spouses (Michael and Chiqui, Dan and Amanda, Andrea and Greg and Kathy and Frank), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and all of their families, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Catholic funeral mass and burial will be celebrated at a later date. Details will be announced when available.
