Anna Turner Rapata, 96, of Chatham, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at Cape Cod Hospital on New Years Day after a brief illness. Anna was very proud of her long Cape Cod heritage, being a lifelong resident of Chatham, and a 3rd generation Cape Codder. She was a graduate of the Chatham High School Class of 1940, and grew up as a child playing with her brothers and sister in the dunes of Truro and Provincetown, where her family lived before moving to Chatham. She was an active member of the Chatham Senior Center, where her ever sharp wit keep both friends and family entertained. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband George, with whom she spent summers enjoying their boat scup fishing and going to various beaches in town. Anna is survived by her two sons Thomas Olson and Robert Olson, of Chatham, and daughter Christine Olson of Chatham. She is also survived by her sister Stella, four grand children, four great grand children, and numerous nephews and nieces. She will be truely missed by all those who knew and loved her. Internment will be private at Seaside Cemetery. A memorial service and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
