Arthur O. Bedard

Arthur O. Bedard passed away on January 29, 2022. He was born in 1940, the son of Robella and Oliver Bedard and brother to the late Robella and Jeanne. He was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts and achieved his Bachelors of Science from Marist College and Masters degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Arthur taught science at Canton High School for 40 years. It was at Canton High that he met his late wife of 46 years, Marjorie. Always enthusiastic about science and later in life, genealogy, Arthur was the consummate student, always striving to learn more. Arthur loved to travel and was particularly passionate with France and all things French. He also enjoyed tennis and pickleball. He was an energetic father and grandfather who always enjoyed the beach with his family.

Arthur is survived by his three children, Timothy and wife Nicole of Duxbury, MA; Mary and her husband Kevin of Mill Valley, CA; and Nicole and her husband Michael of Connecticut along with his four grandchildren. He leaves behind many beloved friends.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 3, 2022 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA. The funeral will be held after visiting hours at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Redeemer Church, 57 Highland Avenue, Chatham, MA followed by his burial in the South Chatham Cemetery, South Chatham, MA.
