

He was born February 11th, 1944, in Bronxville, NY in family of Joseph C. Rauscher and Ruth Jenks. David graduated from Fox Lane School in 1962 and received BA in Business Administration from the Pace University in 1977. Lived in NY for long time, in 1980’s he relocated to his beloved Chatham of Cape Cod.
Dave was a PC software creator, professional musician – guitar and fiddle player. Started his career as a reporter of Pickin’ magazine in NYC, he then established software companies DRM and Bay States, that he led till the last moment. Beyond running the business and being a journalist, Dave played with his “Easy Picking” band of NY and, after moving to Cape Cod, he performed as single guitar player in hotels and restaurants all over the area, as well as with his new band “Fiddlesticks”. Also, being in favor of quiet classical guitar, David released a few CDs.
David was very active in Chatham’s social life – being a private pilot, for many years he served on the Chatham Airport Commission. As a musician, a permanent participant of the Miss Eelgrass contest. Locals
remember Dave as of friend of many, especially the regular customers of Larry’s PX, his favorite breakfast place.
Dave had a bright engineering talent - he built a sail boat and a car of his own construction; also, in his late years he found himself as guitar maker and amateur writer.
David is survived by his wife Tatyana, son Maxim, sisters, nephews and many people and friends who will always remember him.
A viewing will be held from 4 - 7 pm on Saturday, September 2nd at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham.
