Donald’s life was filled with books and reading. He was a quiet and caring person who would help anybody in need.
He is survived by his sister Beverly McVickar of Chatham, Nephews Glenn McVickar of Harwich and Mark McVickar of Saco, Maine. He is also survived by four great nephews, Matthew, Brenden, Benjamin and Timothy McVickar.
Closing time at Larry’s always included Don and “his girls” singing “Another day is over. We are going home. Goodnight, goodnight. We are going home.” Don would raise his hat and all would laugh. It’s a great short video.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 6 pm on March 14th at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd, Chatham, MA. A reception will follow at the Chatham VFW.
Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s memory to the Chatham Public Library. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com
